Galactosemia Type II



Galactosemia is a disorder that prevents the body from processing a simple sugar called galactose into energy.


Signs and Symptoms
Type II: Affected infants may develop cataracts, but otherwise experience few additional complications. Type I and III are caused by mutations in the GALE and GALT genes.
